Liney vs Breeze, Claude and ChatGPT
All of them can now update HubSpot from a sentence. The difference is who sets the rules, and what happens after the AI writes.
The short answer
- Breeze Assistant
- Free on every HubSpot plan. A rep asks, it updates records. Great for one person asking questions and making quick changes.
- Deal Progression
- Reads recorded calls and email and suggests deal updates for a rep to approve. Needs Sales Hub Pro or Enterprise, and it’s still in beta.
- Claude and ChatGPT
- HubSpot’s own apps let either one read and write your CRM from a chat. Personal tools: each rep uses them their own way.
- Liney
- A team tool. Your admin sets which fields reps can change and what each stage needs. Reps type one line. Liney asks for anything missing, shows the change before it’s written, and any line can be undone for 30 days.
Liney uses Claude underneath, so it doesn’t understand a sentence any better than Claude does. What it adds is the part around the AI: the rules, the undo, and the view of the pipeline.

Why teams pick Liney over Breeze
One set of rules for every rep
Your admin picks the fields Liney may touch and the ones each stage needs. Liney also reads the deals you’ve already closed to work out what you usually fill at each stage. A line that’s missing something gets a question, not a guess, and nothing is written until the rep presses Update HubSpot.
Every change can be traced and taken back
Each value points to the line that set it, the rep who typed it and when. Any line can be undone for 30 days, and if someone changed the field since, Liney shows both values and asks first.
You can see the pipeline getting cleaner
Each rep gets a baseline the day they connect and a fresh count every day after: deals gone quiet, past their close date, or missing a field you need. When a required field is missing, Liney can set a task for the owner, and the task closes itself once the field is filled.
No Pro seats, no recording
Deal Progression works from recorded calls and email, and needs Sales Hub Pro or Enterprise. Plenty of teams are on Starter, and plenty of deals move in conversations nobody records. Liney works from what the rep types, so it covers both.
When something else is the better pick
- You’re on Sales Hub Pro and record nearly every call. Deal Progression reads the recording for you, with no typing.
- You want to ask your CRM questions, like which deals close this month without a next step. Breeze Assistant, Claude and ChatGPT do that. Liney doesn’t.
- Your reps want to talk rather than type. Breeze Assistant takes voice in the HubSpot mobile app. Liney has no voice input yet.
- You work with tickets, quotes or custom objects. Liney only handles deals, contacts, companies, notes, calls, meetings and tasks.
- You need HubSpot’s own history to show the rep’s name. For changes made through Liney it shows Liney, and Liney’s log shows the rep.
They also work together. A rep can ask Breeze a question and log the call in Liney. Liney doesn’t stop you using any of them.
