Find deals that have gone quiet
A deal rarely dies on one call. It goes quiet first, and nobody notices until the forecast does.
What “quiet” means
An open deal with no call, email, meeting or note in the last couple of weeks, or with no next step booked. Either one is worth a look. Both together usually means the deal is slipping.
In HubSpot: two saved views
No recent activity
- Open your deals list and add filters.
- Deal stage is none of Closed Won, Closed Lost.
- Last activity date is more than 14 days ago.
- Save it as a view, for example “Quiet 14 days”.
Last activity date counts notes, calls, logged and tracked sales emails, meetings, LinkedIn, SMS and WhatsApp messages, and chats. A deal that has never had any activity has it blank, so make a second view with Last activity date is unknown. HubSpot's list of deal properties: HubSpot's default deal properties.
No next step booked
Same stage filter, plus Next activity date is unknown. These are deals with nothing scheduled: no upcoming call, email, meeting or task. Nobody has decided what happens next.
In Liney: quiet deals where you already work
Saved views work if someone opens them. Liney puts the same signals in front of the rep while they log their day.
The quiet tag
In the Sheet, an open deal with no contact logged in HubSpot for 14 days or more gets a tag like 21d quiet next to its name. Liney goes by the deal's Last Contacted date in HubSpot, or its last change when that's empty.
The tabs
In the tab bar (along the bottom on a computer, at the top on a phone), one click opens the sheet filtered to:
- Needs next step: open deals with the Next step field empty.
- Stale 7d+: open deals with no contact logged in 7 days or more, going by Last Contacted (or the deal's last change when that's empty).
- Closing this month: deals with a close date this month, to check they're still real.
You can pin any deal as its own tab. Click it to start a line about that deal.

Due today
The date bar on today's log carries a small due count: deals whose follow-up is due or overdue (from HubSpot's next activity date, or an open task of yours that's due) and deals closing today. The dot turns red when something is late. Click the count to open the list — overdue ones come first — and click a deal to start a line about it. It stays open or shut the way you leave it.
Close the loop in one line
Finding a quiet deal is half the job. The other half is writing down what happens next, which is the part that gets skipped. In Liney it's one line:
“Left Dana a voicemail, follow up Tuesday.”
Liney logs the call and creates the follow-up task with its due date, so the deal has a next step and comes back to you on Tuesday. More in Keep HubSpot up to date after every call.
A weekly habit
- Monday morning, open the Stale tab (or your “Quiet 14 days” view).
- For each deal, write one line: the next step and when, or that it's lost.
- What's left on the list is what needs a manager's eyes.
