Undo a HubSpot update you got wrong
Wrong deal, wrong amount, a note on the wrong contact. How to put it back, and how long you have.
In HubSpot
Right after you change it
When you edit a property on a record or in a table view, HubSpot briefly shows an undo option. Use it straight away: it disappears, and it doesn't cover changes made by workflows, imports or connected apps. HubSpot's steps: Undo property value changes.
Later on: property history
On the record, hover the property and open its history. You'll see every value, when it changed and where the change came from. There's no button to put back one earlier value: in the history of all the record's properties, a Super Admin can choose Restore all from this source, which works on all of that source's changes to the record at once, not one field. Otherwise, copy the old value back by hand. HubSpot's steps: View a record's property history.
Many records at once: restore CRM changes
A Super Admin on a Starter, Professional or Enterprise hub (Smart CRM on its own needs Professional) can roll records back to a point in the last 14 days, filtered by who or what made the change, in Settings under Backup & Restore. HubSpot shows a preview before anything is restored. HubSpot's steps: Restore CRM changes.
A record you deleted
Deleted deals, contacts and companies can be restored for 90 days from the records list, under Actions, then Restore records. It needs the Account access and Add and edit users permissions, and HubSpot notes some associated data may not come back. HubSpot's steps: Restore deleted records.
These tools work field by field or record by record. After a call you often changed a deal, a contact, a note and a task together, and putting that back means finding each piece.
With Liney: undo the whole line
Every line Liney writes can be undone in one step for 30 days.
- Click the line in your log. You see what it wrote: every field with its new and previous value, and every note, call, task and meeting it added.
- Choose Undo, then confirm.
Just written it? The Undo button is right there next to “Written to HubSpot”.

What comes back
- Deal fields return to their previous values.
- Contact and company fields the line changed return too.
- Notes, logged calls, tasks and meetings the line added are removed.
- Tasks the line marked done are opened again.
- A contact, company or deal the line created is deleted, and its links go with it.
- Someone's main company goes back to the one they had.
A link between two records that were already in HubSpot stays: HubSpot doesn't let Liney remove links. Liney says which ones after the undo, and marks them before you update, so you can unlink them in HubSpot if you need to.
If the line created a deal and you've written more lines to that deal since, Liney asks you to undo those first, because undoing this one deletes the deal.
Undo and fix it
Right idea, wrong detail? Choose Undo and edit. Liney undoes the line and puts your words back in the box, so you can correct them and write again.
If someone changed the record since
Liney won't quietly overwrite a colleague. If a field has changed in HubSpot since the line was written, it shows “Something changed since Liney wrote this”, with what HubSpot has now, what Liney wrote and what was there before. Choose Revert anyway to put the old value back, or leave it.
Sheet edits and older lines
- A change made in the sheet shows up as a line in your log, and you undo it there.
- After 30 days, change the value in HubSpot or the sheet instead.
- To see what Liney changed on any record, open its property history in HubSpot and look for “Liney” as the source.
